Standard of Dress

We believe the biblical truth that the attitudes of our hearts are reflected in the way we speak, act, and the choices we make. This carries over to the way we dress. At NLCS we desire to dress in way that communicates we take learning seriously, we are on the same team, and that we have a history and tradition. We have crafted selections that will reflect our values but still offer students room for individual expression.

Monday through Thursday

  • Collared polo or button-up shirt with NLCS logo
    • Colors: green, black or white
  • Sweater or sweater vest optional for winter months with NLCS logo
  • Shirts must be tucked in (5th grade and older)

Friday

  • NLCS Logo wear
  • Shirts must be tucked in (5th grade and older)

Monday through Thursday

  • Collared polo or button-up shirt with NLCS logo
    • Colors: green, black or white
  • Cardigan with NLCS logo optional for winter months

Friday

  • NLCS Logo wear

Bottoms
  • Blue jeans in good repair
    • No denim on Mondays
  • Khaki slacks or pants
  • Black or brown belt worn with pants (5th - 12th)
  • 1st and 4th quarter: denim or khaki shorts (knee-length)
  • Blue jeans in good repair
    • No denim on Mondays
  • Khaki slacks or pants
  • Knee-length khaki scooter or skort (skirt with built in shorts) or knee-length jumper
  • Black or brown belt worn with pants (5th - 12th)
  • 1st and 4th quarter: denim or khaki shorts or capris (shorts must be knee-length)

Socks
  • Black, white, gray, or brown ankle length socks
  • Solid colors that match dress
  • Socks that match dress with scooters, skorts or jumpers

Shoes
  • Neutral athletic shoes (no light-up shoes)
  • Black or brown dress shoes
  • Black or brown square-toed or cowboy boots
  • Neutral athletic shoes (no light-up shoes)
  • Black or brown dress shoes
  • Closed toed sandals (Mary Janes, etc.)
  • Black or brown boot or cowboy boot

Athletic/P.E.
  • Appropriate shoes for physical activity
  • 5th to 12th Grade Students:
    • Standardized NLCS shirt (Purchased at Sole Performance)
    • Black athletic short of your choosing
  • Appropriate shoes for physical activity

The following types of clothing and shoes are unacceptable: leggings, jeggings, athletic shorts, sweats, yoga pants, flip flops or slides.
